The EM loads driven by plasma disruptions are one of the most concerning issue in the TOKAMAK machine engineering.
Considerable R&D effort is usually spent in designing vessel and in vessel components capable of withstanding the EM loads induced by these events. In support of such efforts both extensive and very detailed EM analyses are needed.
Our group is in charge at the ENEA Fusion Division to face this kind of problems. In particular this operative unit has provided a significant contribution both on modelling plasma disruptions and on analysing their effects for various TOKAMAK machines (ITER, JET, FTU, IGNITOR).
