RF INTERFEROMETER for HELICON PLASMA HYDRAZINE

Description of the interferometer for the project Helicon Plasma Hydrazine.
The FUSING 09-500 digital elaboration system is a vector voltmeter at frequency of 100MHz, measuring the quadrature components of the signal S(t) compared to those of the sinusoidal reference signal R(t) at 100MHz.
This system is used for the interferometer of the HPH.COM project.

The system sends to a PC, via an Ethernet port, data consisting of 2 in quadrature components (2x24 bits) and a sample_number (12bits) at a speed of 31thousand measurements per second. On the PC is present a GUI able to start receiving, saving the data and allows a preview of decimated data.
Similarly to the commercial vector voltmeters the FUSING 09-500 system shows, on a 4-line LCD, the value of the module and the phase instantaneously measured.
The system and the algorithm to calculate the quadrature components have a fully digital implementation and are based on an ENEA electronic patent.
The advantages of this system are high linearity, high measurement frequency and high noise immunity.
