Function, Scope of Supply:

This system allows the vision and measurement of plasma facing components at the interior of the vacuum vessel and dedicated applications during the remote maintenance of the plasma facing components

Description, Technologies :

The main elements forming the system are

·        A multi-functional articulated arm inclusive of its deployment trolley

·        Visualization and measurement unit for the inspection of the plasma components by laser scanning and profile reconstruction suitable for operation under vacuum, temperature up to 240 degree in radioactive contaminated environment (Beryllium, other contaminated powders, activation up to 700 Gy/h) and possibly under a magnetic field of up to 6 Tesla (to be confirmed),

·        A device for the suction of dust from difficult access areas in the divertor level

·        A robotised sniffing unit for the localization of leaks in water cooling circuits of the plasma facing components

The areas of engineering involved are:

·        Development of RH methods & procedures

·        Development of RH Equipment design

The following technologies and competences are required:

·        RH Transporters (large electro-mechanical devices + water hydraulics)

·        RH Manipulators

·        RH Tooling

·        Software development

·        Virtual reality simulations development

·        Instrumentation, sensors, signal processing, data acquisition
